rent permissions show

Inspect the permission model from the terminal:

rent permissions show
rent permissions show --model Post
rent permissions show --schema schemas --json

Read the result

The default text output contains the schema's tenancy, access, and grouped permissions blocks. It preserves permission documentation and uses the ordinary RSL formatter. With --model Post, it includes the shared access and tenant configuration and only Post's rules. The entire schema is validated before any filtered output is written.

--schema accepts one RSL file or a multi-file schema directory. Its default follows the project's configured schema path, just like rent validate and rent generate.

--json emits versioned metadata with enabled, access, tenancy, models, and grants. Model entries contain normalized rules and relationships. Grant entries describe the inferred assignment tables and their complete resource/subject keys. A schema without access reports enabled: false and does not require permission blocks.

This command reads schema declarations. It does not connect to a database, evaluate a viewer's access, or list stored assignments. To evaluate one resource at runtime, use client.post_permissions(&post_id).can(PostPermission::Editor).await?. To display row badges, use the permission projections example.

For an ordinary schema without access or tenancy, the JSON result is:

{
  "version": 1,
  "enabled": false,
  "access": null,
  "tenancy": null,
  "models": [],
  "grants": []
}

For live decisions, use rent permissions explain.
