Rent v0.8.1

Rent v0.8.1 makes PostgreSQL extension queries reliable on new connections and adds convenient ways to select larger sets of columns.

  • Native extension values, including pgvector embeddings, work on the first query through each database connection. Queries that use temporary prepared statements keep that lifetime instead of retaining them in the statement cache.
  • rent extension init creates portable dependencies when the CLI was installed from Git. Commit the generated extension package and build it on another machine using the same Rent revision.
  • Select up to sixteen fields as a typed tuple. For larger results or meaningful field names, define a result struct with #[derive(rent::Projection)].

The querying lesson introduces selected fields and named results. The production access example shows them in a larger application flow.

Upgrade

Use v0.8.1 for the CLI and every Rent crate. Regenerate your clients and commit your application's lockfile. Upgrading from v0.8.0 requires no RSL changes or database migrations.

See installation for the matching CLI command.
